We all know when attempting to lose weight that a healthy diet is crucial. Now that doesn’t mean you have to stop eating all the stuff you love completely. I’m planning to share with you some healthy eating tip’s that are great for your body and make it less difficult to eat  in moderation. We want what we eat to make us feel terrific and give us more energy. Isn’t that the reason for food in general?

When altering your diet we want to make things easy as possible. We do not want to be overly concerned with calorie counting or serving sizes. Small progressive adjustments like freshness and variety will make it easier for you to make healthy choices. Search for recipes that incorporate the foods you enjoy with a few fresh ingredients. You may discover that fresh ingredients in any meal tend to make the meal more pleasant and fulfilling.

Start off slow when modifying your diet. Keep in mind this is a lifestyle change and hoping to change your diet in one night may only amplify your chances of failure. Only through time and effort will you be on the right track to healthy eating. Minor changes like a salad every day or an apple after dinner start to become habitual and make it easy to add more healthy choices in the future. Remember all the small changes really do matter when seeking a healthier lifestyle, that doesn’t mean you have to be flawless but by building just one healthy habit you’ve opened the door for more to follow. You do not have to quit eating the foods you enjoy. Our goal is to feel good, have more energy and to decrease the threat of health problems.

Healthy eating habits are not only about eating foods that are good for you. Often its not what you eat but rather how you eat that has a lot to do with gaining or losing weight. Eating healthy should be thought of as sustenance or refueling for the body and mind not just an “eat on the run” kind of thing. It is a time to be with with family and/or friends relaxing and experiencing the food and environment. There are numerous social and emotional benefits to be taken advantage of when eating with other people. Specially for children, this time will allow  you to model healthy eating habits. Take your time eating and savor every bite. Sometimes we tend to rush through meals detaching us from any enjoyment of eating. Take a minute and ask yourself if you are really hungry. Quite often we seem to mistake thirst for hunger and begin to eat when our body was not really hungry. When eating it in fact takes a few minutes for your brain to tell your body that it’s full, so eat slowly give your brain time to tell your body that it’s had enough.

Eating healthy isn’t all about keeping an eye on calories or measuring meals. Surprisingly a little bit of wine can also be healthy for you. Wine helps protect against clots and decrease blood vessel inflammation. Study’s indicate that wine also helps preserve the memory. Memory quizzes were given to women in their 70’s, the ladies who drank 1 or more glasses a day scored better than those who drank less or none at all. Studies also show that folks who drink wine daily have a lower body mass, narrower waists and less abdominal fat than the ones who only drink now and then. Beer even has a similar effect if drank moderately. I am definitely not telling you to go out and get wasted every night but a glass of wine a day may possibly help you relax, take a load off and is also beneficial for the mind and body. Hope these tip’s have been helpful. Good Luck!
